What is New Persistent Daily Headache? New persistent daily headache (NDPH) is a new-onset headache occurring in a person who does not have a past history of frequent headaches and which then persists on a daily basis for more than 3 months. The headache is unremitting from the start or from within 3 days of its onset. It is one of the types of primary headache syndromes that present as a chronic daily headache, which is a headache present for more than 15 days a month for more than 3 months. The defining feature of this type of headache is that you vividly remember the circumstances, sometimes even the exact date, of the first headache.
